The primary purpose of the Prison Release Program is to provide tailored support to participants that address not only their employment barriers but take into consideration cultural responsibilities and work practices, facilitating successful reintegration into employment and the community.
IDEAL Placements has developed and introduced a model that reflects best practice in transitional support for participants that have just been released and caters for all ex-offenders including those from juvenile detention programs.
Achieving this will require negotiating with their employers to find suitable employment and ensuring the participant is linked with other specialty supporting organisations.
- Reduce number of re-offenders
- Assist participants transition into the workforce
- Reduce self-perceived stigma of having criminal record
- Link with other community based agencies working with prisoners and their families
