The purpose of this program is to assist workers who have been on workers compensation to return to active roles within the workforce.
Achieving this will require either negotiating with their previous employer or finding suitable alternative work for them.
The Rehabilitation and Return to Work Policy provides the framework for efficient rehabilitation management of workers. This includes the key elements of current good practice in injury management and the key strategies and procedures required to support sustainable return to work and outcomes for those who have been injured either in the workforce or through accidents outside the workforce.
- Support the restoration of work-injured/ill employees to the workplace or community
- Provide a consistent and systemic approach to rehabilitation management based on knowledge of current best practice in injury management
- Contribute to continuous improvements in human resource management that support employee safety and well-being
- The Rehabilitation and Return to Work Program is made up of two areas of assistance.
Jobseeking and Job Placements — IDEAL Placements can offer assistance with individualised job seeking advice, resume writing, vocational planning and job applications
Organising Host Placements — IDEAL Placements will assist with organising suitable host placements with local employers for participants in preparation for returning to their pre-injury role.
